Who We ARe
Why Faire Dinkum?
In the early 1800’s Lincolnshire, England was full of Chinese gold miners. It’s said that when they’d strike a lode, you could hear them shout din gum, or real gold! It wasn’t long before the Brits mottled the word to dinkum and carried it to Australia. These days, there’s no higher compliment in the Southern Hemisphere than declaring something “fair dinkum!” It means it’s genuine - the real deal!
We’re the Faire family (hi there!), so we added an e. As for the spaces we host here on the gorgeous Florida Emerald Coast: They’re authentic, entirely unique, and stand apart from the average hotel or Airbnb. That’s fair dinkum, mate.

What’s your travel style?
No, I’m not asking about the kind of place you’ve always booked based on budget and availability. I want to know what suits you. Is it a retro-romantic glamping trip where you can hear exotic birds sing from the comfort of your memory foam bed? Or maybe something slightly more urban… an elegant bayside condo with views of the marina. Perhaps a more local touch? Try an eclectic in-home suite with hosts who point you to the perfect coffee shop. Maybe something else?
No matter which space calls your name, we guarantee: Your stay will be unforgettable. Can you say that about the last Hampton you booked?

Cathy - first time in an airbnb
“This was my fiance and I’s first Airbnb and it was great! Ashton was super nice and her home was so welcoming! She was quick to respond to messages, respected our privacy but offered any help if we needed it. Her dogs are extremely friendly and did great with our little dog! She is able to host more than one family but everything was separate and accommodating. We felt very safe. Her home is secluded in a nice wooded area, close to state parks, and a easy 10 minute drive to Destin!… Would recommend her place to anyone! She made this a great first experience!”
Tiffany - traveling with family
“Awesome place to stay if you’re looking for a place away from the hectic and crowded condos in the area. Lovely decor, good location, away from the main strip yet close enough that most stuff was within a 30 minute drive max, and was a serene setting while we were there (which I prefer)… it was convenient to rent two rooms to accommodate us as a couple and my daughter… We had a peaceful stay. Nice hosts. Would stay there again.”

“Pro tip, skip the Destin hotels. Ashton’s cozy home is just over the bridge from all the action and is so much more than appears (take advantage of the hammocks and back patio). An eclectic gem, tucked away, casual spot to get away from it all with lovely hospitality.”

“The Faires’ place was amazing. The interior decor was one of the best I have seen so far both in the house and the room I stayed in while Airbnbing. I loved the garden and hanging out on the front yard on one of their hammocks. The place is only a 1-minute drive from the bayou state reserve which Ashton recommended we check out. We took a canoe onto the bay and had an amazing time there.”
